How to Use the Business Model Canvas to Plan Your Recovery

With the COVID-19 issues, businesses are going to have to figure out how to come out of this. And as part of planning your recovery, using this Business Model Canvas from the Strategyzer will help you get more granular information so you can have more specific things to work on.

The 9 Segments of the Business Model Canvas

1. Customer Segments

Think about your current customers, how they feel, how you talk to them, and who they are. Think about how it might be different moving forward.

2. Value Proposition

What could be different in the value proposition you're offering moving forward?

3. The Channels

If you're used to a person-to-person sales process or a storefront type process, consider moving to an online process.

4. Customer Relationships

How do we actually interact with the customer and what changes should you anticipate going forward?

5. Revenue Streams

Once you have your revenues back up again, what might be different moving forward? Examples: lower price point, additional services, your relationship with your suppliers.

6. Key Resources

What are the key resources you either have today or you may need to develop for tomorrow?

7. Key Activities

Rethink your processes so that you can streamline what you do today.

 8. Key Partnerships

How can you re-establish relationships with your suppliers, bankers, accountants, and marketers, etc.? You may need to form some new partnerships to help up your marketing game and create future product offerings.

9. Cost Structure

Think about how your cost structure looks like. Are there things you've been doing that you could change, eliminate, or add?
