What I Experienced at Mike Kim’s Mastermind Conference
I just returned from an epic mastermind conference hosted by Mike Kim. Mike is the author of the best-selling book, You Are The Brand, which we’ve talked about extensively on Creating Your Encore Career. It was an amazing week spent with a group of my mastermind peers.
Today, I want to share my takeaways from the conference. I’m going to discuss the main topics of the conference, the things I learned, and why it was such an incredible conference.
What The Conference Was
Mike hosted this conference for all of the members of his mastermind groups. The conference was three days long. There were over 50 attendees which made for a rich group of people. Multiple marvelous speakers came and talked about a variety of business topics.
The four main topics that were discussed were:
1. Mindset
2. Skillset
3. Success stories
4. Personal stories
Mindset Topics
The speakers who taught on mindset did a great job at covering all of the bases. These were the subjects they discussed:
Sean Osborn talked about, “The Operating System of You”
Matt Clark taught, “High-Performance Lessons from NASCAR” through neuroscience
Dr. Ellen Wong spoke on, “The Art and Science of Happiness”
Teresa McCloy taught, “The REAL Life Process” (aka, scheduling)
Dr. Eugene Choi talked about Neuroscience
Skillset Topics
There were also great sessions on practical skills. These were the skillsets covered:
Linda Fogg Phillips spoke on, “The Small Changes that Change Everything”
Stacey Brown Randall taught us about, “Generating Referrals Without Asking”
Robert & Kaylee Fukui talked about “Tandem,” couples as entrepreneurs
Jason Frazell taught us how to, “Change the Way You Coach Forever”
There was a video marketing panel for coaches with Ryan Koral, Cameron King, and Lauren Davis
Danny Ozment talked about, “How to Get Booked on Podcasts”
Finally, there was an “Optimizing Your SEO Panel” with Robby Fowler and Nick Jeong
My Final Takeaways
All in all, I loved the design of the conference. There were lots of different topics and open space and time. It was also a smaller conference. All of this made it easy to meet and connect with other people. This opportunity increased my value.
In general, masterminds provide a unique opportunity. They have a special power that comes from getting to talk with people about topics and mutual interests and seeing how others are developing their businesses.
No one has it all figured out, so let’s help each other grow.
