Habits are useful. They help us deal with everyday life.
In fact, our habits can determine the arc of our lives.
The behaviors we consistently exhibit determine where we go in life and also determine what kind of leader we can become.
In the last episode, we explored what it means to find the space to lead.
Today, I want to explore the power behind creating mini habits.
As usual, many of these episodes are inspired by various books I’ve read and learned from.
Today, I am going to talk briefly about four books that truly help us understand what a habit is, what mini-habits are, and how to create them.
Plus, how creating mini-habits will aid you in being a more effective, creative, and present leader.
We’ll dive deeper into these concepts:
Understanding the science behind habits
Why focusing on systems is better than focusing on goals
The laws of habit change
The definition of a mini-habit and how to create one
Examples of habit stacking and some examples of how to do it
My challenge to you this week is to create and try out some mini-habits and see how it works for you.
Focus on the mini-habit this week, rather than on your big goals.
Next week, we’ll talk all about how we can do focused or creative work in order to really accomplish the important work in our lives.
