See this content in the original post

This is the first part of our series on Preparing for Your Great Start in 2020! As we think about starting 2020, it is important to finish 2019 strong to prepare you for a really powerful start to the new year. How are you approaching your goals for 2020?

In this episode, I will discuss setting goals and some of the things to consider as we do that. We must consider the importance of our actions each day. It is also important to focus on purpose and why you are doing things as you move forward. If you find that some things are not finished in 2019, it may be necessary to mark those complete even if they are not finished. You don’t have to take everything into the next year as you work to create your goals for 2020.

I will also talk about many other elements to consider when setting your goals for 2020 such as looking at your relationships and giving some thought to the top ten relationships you have in your life - whether those are in your personal life, work life, or with friends. Also, I’ll discuss the importance of doing something bigger than yourself. Listen in for some great elements to consider as you approach 2020 and set your goals for the new year.

We’ll dive deeper into these concepts:

  • Focusing on goals for 2020

  • The importance of considering purpose and not just actions

  • Having big goals but the understanding that we get there with small steps

  • Energy as the key to performance - emotional, mental and spiritual

  • Emotional intelligence and its four domains

  • Mind sweeps and how those apply to setting goals

This week I encourage you to look at and create your goals, as you discover what you want to do in 2020. Next week I will talk about four lenses to help you examine your goals for the new year.
