See this content in the original post

A portfolio career isn't simply about leaving a corporate job and going into one new thing. It actually takes more than that. In fact, you might actually have to be doing several things to create your next chapter in life. You could have 50 different directions as to where you want to take your encore career – when you actually need to be doing just one thing: FOCUS.

In today’s episode, Jeff Ostroff shares his journey of creating his own portfolio career, and he shares some tips and strategies to help you figure things out as well. Jeff is a podcast creator, host, producer, consultant, and columnist. He is a B2B/B2C interviewer, a voice-over talent, a meeting/event host and moderator, a presenter and trainer, and a boomer/senior generation marketing expert.

We'll dive deeper into these concepts:

  • How his career moved from having a secure government job to being an entrepreneur

  • How he pivoted from his government expertise to his entrepreneurial expertise.

  • What got him to write a book on marketing to the 50+ age group while in the middle of his career journey

  • How he planned to “retire” but the entrepreneurial bug re-engaged him
