For me, life took a turn that I hadn't quite anticipated. I found myself being let go despite my desire to continue working. The choice to “retire” was made for me and I wasn’t ready. I wanted to continue working as I knew I still had valuable skills and experiences to share. For me, retirement wasn't about playing golf or pickleball daily; it was about recognizing that I still had an abundance of value and experiences to offer to the world.

As someone who has been through the challenges and triumphs of transitioning into this Second Act of life, I understand the uncertainty and excitement that comes with it. I have faced the questions of what's next, how to maintain financial stability, and how to strike a balance between taking care of loved ones and pursuing my own dreams

I have been in love with and married almost 30 wonderful years to my wife, Mary Lee. We have three wonderful grown children, two of whom are married, with one tremendous grandchild.

I love to read, travel, and spend time with our extended family. My passion is reading and learning, but my children tease me about my hundreds of business books and articles.

An interesting side note:

I took the Strengths Finder Assessment when it first came out and then took it again several years later. My top 5 strengths stayed the same.

They are:

• Learner

• Input

• Ideation

• Intellection

• Futuristic

In the later groupings of strengths, that group of strengths left me solidly in the quadrant of strategic planning. That left me to consider that rather than being involved in process execution, I probably should be focusing on creating process innovation with people!
