The current workforce is becoming more automated than ever. Jobs that were once done manually can now be done by robots. That trend will only continue to grow in the years to come. So, with that on the horizon, why are Boomers vital to the future of work? What value do they bring right now?

When workers retire, we often ignore them as part of the workforce. However, they have skills based on their diverse and long experience. Boomers in particular have seen a lot of history. They can sense new patterns, know how to work around problems, and are skilled at working with people.

Being a Boomer myself, I’ve wrestled with the question of whether or not we matter to the future of work and realized that we will be a vital piece of it. In this episode, I explain the 4 main ideas of why this is true.

We'll dive deeper into these concepts:

  • Demographics

  • Technology changes

  • The experience that Boomers bring to the workforce

  • A little bit about the future of work
