This is the third part of my series on Preparing for Your Great Start to 2020! Could you use a coach? Would that be useful to you? Leaders use coaches for a number of reasons as they work to better themselves and be as effective as possible.

Gaining greater insight into self-awareness and creating clarity in goals are just a couple of reasons why leaders use coaches. Being self-aware helps you in your relationships with others as you interact as a leader. It is important to look to the future and decide where you would like to go. Sometimes having a coach is the best way to get there, to help navigate your journey.

In this episode, I discuss many topics of coaching to help you decide if having a coach could help you in 2020 and beyond.

We’ll dive deeper into these concepts:

  • Why leaders use coaches and examples of coaching engagements

  • The process steps of coaching and how coaching can help you

  • Next steps: how to assess your organization’s progress

  • Consider what you’d like to do in the future and if a coach can help you get there

This week, I encourage you to take some time to recollect on 2019. Compare where you began in 2019, as a leader and where you are ending the year. Did you make progress on your goals and have an improved impact on your organization? Think about what you did in the past twelve months, what you would like to do in the next twelve months, and how you may be able to get there.
