Taking A Sabbatical From The Podcast

We all encounter crossroads in life. These junctures can be terrifying, exciting, overwhelming, and often, a blend of all three. Sometimes, these crossroads come in the form of life-altering events, like caring for an elderly parent or a personal health scare. As I currently navigate one such life-altering event, I’ve decided to embrace the change, pause, learn, and embark on a short sabbatical from our weekly podcast.

The Sabbatical and The Podcast

Over the last 224 episodes, we've explored the ins and outs of navigating transitions and Creating Your Encore Career – and an encore life. This experience has been an exciting journey of growth and discovery. But now, as I help my 97-year-old mother navigate her transition, it's time for me to undertake a personal transition, learn from it, and come back enriched.

Embracing Positive Transitions

I'm choosing to look at this as a positive transition - an opportunity to learn and grow, rather than a disruption. The wisdom I gather from this period will, I believe, bring fresh insights and perspectives to our future podcasts. Although the podcast episodes will pause for a while, rest assured, that our communication continues.

Continuing the Journey

In the spirit of creating value beyond just winning the next pickleball game, I'll continue to reach out to you through weekly newsletters and short social media posts. Plus, I'm excited to announce that I'll be hosting a free webinar on transitions in January - an incredible opportunity to delve deeper into the journey of change.

The Sabbatical: A Pause, Not a Farewell

This sabbatical is not a farewell, but a pause - a pause to reflect, to learn, and to grow. While I am away, I invite you to continue exploring the journey of transitions and the joy of creating an Encore Life. You can do this by revisiting our past podcast episodes, signing up for my weekly newsletters, or following me on LinkedIn or Instagram

The Encore Life: Creating Value and Making Transitions

As we traverse these paths of transition, let's remember that with an Encore Life, we are creating value in the world beyond just winning the next game. We can do the work we love when we want and where we want. And if you're keen to learn more about making transitions and creating an Encore Life, don't forget to check out my website.

In the words of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, "One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star." Here's to embracing the chaos of transitions and emerging as dancing stars.
