Tasha Wilmore is the owner of Help On Deck, a firm that supplies support work for entrepreneurs. She has a remarkable story about creating her business. She is a military spouse and helps other military spouses have a remote work career.
On Creating Your Encore Career, Tasha and I talked about how her company helps entrepreneurs get the help they need. A few of her services include logistics, travel management, client liaison, email management, CRM management, scheduling/calendar, and social media.
Most of the time, these activities will take up a lot of your time and not earn you any money. Therefore, it just makes sense to outsource them.
Tasha shared how she and her team can help you do just that as you’re building and scaling your Encore Career.
Decipher Your Needs
To figure out what you need help with in the first place, start by going through your day and thinking about every type of task or duty that you like and don’t like to do. Think about how much time you spend doing these things and which of those tasks causes you the most stress.
Once you have thought through these things, try and make a list of what you’d like help with as a result. If you still can’t figure it out, Tasha and her team can help you discover what you need help with in an initial conversation.
When to Delegate
Additionally, you can go a level deeper by figuring out when you can do a task yourself and when it needs to be delegated.
Think about all of the tasks you do day in and day out in your business. Odds are, you could learn how to do each of those tasks. It’s possible. However, are they things you love to do or are you totally frustrated after working on them?
Think about the emotional attachment to each of your tasks. As an entrepreneur, you want to be in a good mental space. If there's something that needs to be done within your business that takes you out of that good, healthy mental space, it’s probably time to delegate those things over to someone else who enjoys handling them.
All in all, outsourcing could save you a lot of time and make you more productive in your Encore Career.
